Today I got the change to travel to Calabogie Motorsports Park (about an hour west of Ottawa) to watch the different races making up the Calabogie Grand Prix. Together with a friend of mine, we walked along the spectator area and paddocks to check out the teams. Here's a sample of the photos I took, with the entire set !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

First up was the Porsche GT3 Cup, led by the Macan Turbo safety car. It seems each driver is a gentleman racer and sponsored by local dealers. Many of these cars seemed to put down the best lap times of the day (unofficially, as we timed from the spectator area).
The main observation point is a berm along this sweeping corner.
Group 2 was the GT class, and that seemed to comprise everything from Radicals to open wheeled Formula style racers and even a Yaris (the Yaris was last).
Obligatory red Miata.
Third on the day was the 944 Cup. Pretty quick for what we're guessing are 20+ year old cars.
The Supercar series was next and was mostly made up of V8s from Ferrari, Camaros and Mustangs. All 3 Ferraris were from the same team, with 1 458 and 2 430s.
This Mazda, along with a Radical SR3, smoked everyone, but I can't tell from research if this particular Mazda is a rotary. Sure sounded good!
Each group had a minimum of 2 races so the last class we watched was the Canadian Touring Car Championship, which used a lot of Civics, some WRXes and a bunch of Minis.
Pretty cool day of racing, even if the drivers are mostly amateur. Zoom lens made all the difference!

A coworker just did a track day there in his FRS and a few people today were talking about driving in the Mustangs so it sounds like a lot of fun! One of the track Mustangs was driving with a for sale sign and we were joking that the value dropped with every lap haha
